HE SURROUNDING AREA
The Artist's Roost was built around 1830 by the US Army to be used as an Army Outpost. Many times the log cabin has changed hands. Anita Miller bought the property in 2003 and transformed it into her artist's studio, called "The Artist's Roost." It was in this studio that the paintings were created. Surrounded by trees and farmfields, the memorial waits for its next venue.
